Student fries hamster alive
UK police arrested 20-year-old man on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to the animal.

UK, February 16, 2012

A live pet hamster was apparently cooked in a frying pan at a wild party, according to The Sun.

A police source told the newspaper: "The hamster was dead. But the investigation will centre on whether it was dead when they started cooking it, or if the cooking killed it."

A 20-year-old student in the United Kingdom was arrested after he claimed to have committed the cruel act.

Police are carrying out a joint investigation with the RSPCA into the alleged incident.

The police were alerted when the neighbours complained about a noisy commotion.

North Yorkshire Police said: "A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

"He has been released on bail while inquiries continue."
