They're old, lonely and many of them are sick.
Doing their own cooking is a challenging task for these senior citizens living in rental flats in an HDB block in Sin Ming. It didn't help much even with gifts of dried food, like rice grains or noodles.
What they need most are freshly cooked nutritional meals.
Jin Shan Chinese Restaurant in Marina Bay Sands, which has a wide ranging menu from dim sum to exquisite delicacies like abalone, decided to help when one of its directors, Madam Christina Tay, heard about their plight from a charitable volunteer, 'Mrs Lim'.
Madam Tay got her celebrity chef, Huang Ching Biao, to come up with menus that are suitable for the elderly residents.
